چکیده
We survey the use of club guessing and other pcf constructs in the context of showing that a given partially ordered class of objects does not have a largest, or a universal element. 1 0 Introduction A natural problem in mathematics is the following: given some partially ordered or a quasi-ordered set or a class, is there the largest element in it. An aspect of this question appears in the theory of order where one concentrates on the properties of the set and the partial order, ignoring the properties of the individual elements of the set. A very different view of this question is obtained when one takes the point that it is the structure of individual elements that is of interest. An instance of this is the question of universality. Here we are given a class or a set of objects and a notion of embedding between them, and we ask if there is an object in the class that 1 The author thanks EPSRC for their support on as Advanced Fellowship. This paper investigates a connection between the ordering ⊳∗ among theories in model theory and the (N)SOPn hierarchy of Shelah. It introduces two properties which are natural extensions of this hierarchy, called SOP2 and SOP1, and gives a connection between SOP1 and the maximality in the ⊳∗-ordering. Together with the known results about the connection between the (N)SOPn hierarchy and the exi...
متن کامل0 Weak reflection at the successor of singular Mirna Džamonja School of Mathematics University of East Anglia Norwich , NR 47 TJ , UK
The notion of stationary reflection is one of the most important notions of combinatorial set theory. We investigate weak reflection, which is, as the name suggests, a weak version of stationary reflection. This sort of reflection was introduced in [DjSh 545], where it was shown that weak reflection has applications to various guessing principles, in the sense that if there is no weak reflectio...

Background: The Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) has been recommended as a cognitive screening tool for clinical practice and research in Parkinson’s disease (PD), yet no normative data have been published for MoCA in PD without dementia. Methods: We undertook a pooled secondary analysis of data from two studies (one cross-sectional design and one clinical trial) conducted in the East ...
